Student Success & Tutoring Center
The Student Success & Tutoring Center (SSTC) is a FREE resource center for HGTC students
who need academic coaching/tutoring, Math Center support, Writing Center assistance,
college skills training, and/or online academic study tools and support. Please visit
the SSTC for more information and access your Student Services tab in WaveNet for
direct links to the scheduler, 24/7 Online Resource Center, and 24/7 Brainfuse Online Tutoring Resources.
Student Success & Tutoring Center services include:
During your session, the academic coaches will prompt you to:
• Think actively
• Practice ungraded problems or activities
• Fine-tune specific college success skills
• Discuss your thoughts about your assignments and tutoring needs

Math Centers are provided at Conway and Grand Strand campuses where you can drop in to the SSTC during the hours posted to receive assistance - no appointment necessary! The Math Centers are located in the SSTC and staffed with Math Faculty Volunteers.
View the hours of operation by logging into your TutorTrac account, and searching for your math course and selecting Math Center as your reason. You may also view the hours of operation on the HGTC Events calendar.
In addition to dropping in to the Math Center at Conway or Grand Strand, you may also schedule one-on-one or group appointments with our Math Coaches in the SSTC, log into your Student Services tab in WaveNet to access TutorTrac to schedule those appointments today!
The Writing Center provides professional academic coaches and faculty volunteers who offer guidance for any kind of writing assignment.
During your session, the academic coaches will prompt you to:
• Think actively
• Compose new writing
• Fine-tune specific writing skills
• Discuss your thoughts about your paper and the writing process
Please come prepared with a copy of your assignment instructions and a draft of work attempted or completed.

The SSTC provides academic coaches who offer guidance for college skills, such as note-taking, time-management, test-taking anxiety, study skills, and more.
During your session, the academic coaches will prompt you to:
• Try new college skills strategies
• Share college skills best practices and personal experiences with college skills
• Discuss your current methods of studying, time-management, and note-taking
Please come prepared to learn other methods of college-skills.

The PAC Program provides HGTC students with regularly scheduled academic/Writing Center support,
mentoring, and/or college skills coaching in the Student Success and Tutoring Center.
To enroll in the PAC Program, complete this Enrollment Form.
We offer Campus2Campus Virtual Academic Assistance as a method for virtual tutoring in order to provide more academic assistance/college support opportunities to all students, especially online students.
Please contact the SSTC to receive further information on this program, or to schedule a Campus2Campus tutoring appointment that fits your needs.
Two options for placement test preparation are Independent Study and the Placement Skills Program:
The Placement Skills Program provides structured tutoring in the different areas of the Next-Generation ACCUPLACER exam. For more information, please call the SSTC or email us at sstc@hgtc.edu.
Independent study allows you to prepare on your own using different software & resources that are available online for free through the SSTC & HGTC Library. Visit our Online Resource Center and select Placement Test Prep Resources to access independent study tools or follow the directions in this file to access PrepStep online.
